KEMERALTI

Sara BERTI

05.12.2013 - 27.12.2013

The Italian artist Sara Berti has created new artworks for a studio residence and exhibition at maquis projects in Kemeralti, Izmir. The artworks take the area Kemeraltı as a starting point and inspiration. There is a sense of exuberant linkage from one point to another and between different materials and textures. The aesthetic positioning of the body as part of the layered urban experience is also explored.

Sara’s work - using a variety of media - explores the fine line between Kemeralti’s energetic, organic consumerism and the individual’s need to negotiate such an environment both literally and subjectively.
